Aims
Rolleston Kindergarten is an inclusive setting and aims to:
- Provide a friendly, welcoming, safe and secure environment in which parents feel happy to leave their children and children enjoy attending.
- Provide a challenging play based curriculum which gives all children the best possible start to their education by enabling them to explore and investigate a wide range of activities.
- Provide well trained, motivated staff working within a keyworker system.
- Fully involve parents/carers in their child's time at Kindergarten, and form good home links with every family.
Our mature staff are caring, fully qualified and have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with the children and their families.
Curriculum
At Kindergarten we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, which covers child development from birth to the age of 5. This sets the standards for all early years’ providers, supporting them to offer high quality environments which ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. The curriculum is play based and activities are planned to meet the needs and interests of the individual children, enabling them to learn through play and interaction with others. Care is also taken to ensure that activities promote independence, and that children are successful in their learning.
We recognise that parents/carers are the most important influence in their child’s life, but also understand that a strong start to learning and development helps prepare children for the school environment
The 6 areas of learning and development in the EYFS are:
- Communication, Language & Literacy
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the world
- Creative Development
Kindergarten is registered and inspected by Ofsted to assess how well we meet the EYFS standards. Our latest report is available to read in setting or on www.ofsted.gov.uk
